Respect – מוזיקה שחורה ככלי בגיבוש זהות בקרב נשים אפרו אמריקאיות

תקציר: הרצאה זו עוסקת בתפקידה של המוזיקה השחורה ובפרט ביצירתן ובפועלן של זמרות ויוצרות אפרו־ אמריקאיות, בתהליכי גיבוש זהות נשית־שחורה בארצות הברית במחצית השנייה של המאה העשרים. ההרצאה תבחן כיצד נשים אפרו־אמריקאיות, שחוו הדרה מתמשכת הן מתנועות המאבק הגזעיות והן מהפמיניזם הלבן, פיתחו באמצעות מוזיקה קול עצמאי ושפה תרבותית משותפת. על האופן בו המוזיקה שימשה עבורן מרחב של התנגדות, העצמה ובניית זהות, ולא רק ביטוי אמנותי לתהליכים חברתיים קיימים. במוקד הדיון תעמוד השאלה כיצד התגבשה זהות נשית־שחורה מתוך הדיאלוג בין מאבקים חברתיים, תיאוריה פמיניסטית והתפתחות סגנונות מוזיקליים. ההרצאה תציג ניתוחים של שירים וקליפים כטקסטים היסטוריים רב־שכבתיים, המשקפים ומעצבים תודעה פוליטית, מגדרית ותרבותית. ההרצאה נשענת על שילוב בין שלושה צירים: תיאורטי־פמיניסטי )פמיניזם שחור, תיאוריית ההצטלבויות והיפ הופ פמיניזם(, היסטורי־חברתי, ופרשני־מוזיקלי. שילוב זה מאפשר להציע קריאה של המוזיקה הנשית־השחורה ככלי מחקר היסטורי בעל ערך עצמאי, וכמרחב פעיל של עיצוב זהות, התנגדות ופעולה פוליטית.

Respect : Black Music as a Tool for Identity Formation Among African American Women

This lecture deals with the role of black music, and in particular the creation and practice of African American singers and songwriters, in the processes of forming a black female identity in the United States in the second half of the twentieth century. The lecture will examine how African American women, who experienced ongoing exclusion from both racial struggle movements and white feminism, developed an independent voice and a common cultural language through music. The way in which music served as a space for resistance, empowerment, and identity construction for them, and not just an artistic expression of existing social processes. The focus of the discussion will be the question of how a black female identity was formed from the dialogue between social struggles, feminist theory, and the development of musical styles. The lecture will present analyses of songs and music videos as multilayered historical texts that reflect and shape Political, gender, and cultural consciousness. The lecture is based on a combination of three axes: theoretical-feminist (black feminism, intersectional theory, and hip-hop feminism), historical-social, and interpretive-musical. This combination allows for a reading of black female music as a historical research tool with independent value, and as an active space for identity formation, resistance, and political action.

ביו קצר: מנהלת שותפויות חוף אשקלון והמועצה האזורית יואב בסוכנות היהודית, מובילה חיבורים בין קהילות בישראל ובתפוצות ומפתחת יוזמות חינוכיות וקהילתיות ארוכות טווח. בעלת דוקטורט בהיסטוריה מאוניברסיטת בר־אילן. נושא המחקר: מוזיקה שחורה ככלי בגיבוש זהות בקרב נשים אפרו־אמריקאיות — מחקר העוסק בקשר בין תרבות, מגדר, זהות ומוזיקה ככלי לשינוי חברתי. בעברה מורה, מחנכת ורכזת חינוך חברתי, שהובילה פרויקטים חינוכיים וחברתיים ובהם מסלול מצוינות במוזיקה וקבוצת הידברות בין דתיים לחילוניים. מוזיקאית, יוצרת ואשת חינוך, המחברת בין מחקר, יצירה ועשייה קהילתית. אמא לארבעה.

نبذة مختصرة: تتولى الدكتورة ليبات كامينسكي، مديرة شراكة شاطئ عسقلان ومجلس يوآف الإقليمي التابع للوكالة اليهودية، قيادة جهود التواصل بين المجتمعات في إسرائيل والشتات، وتطوير مبادرات تعليمية ومجتمعية طويلة الأمد. حاصلة على درجة الدكتوراه في التاريخ من جامعة بار إيلان. موضوع بحثها: الموسيقى السوداء كأداة لتشكيل الهوية لدى النساء الأمريكيات من أصول أفريقية – وهو بحث يتناول العلاقة بين الثقافة، والجنس، والهوية، والموسيقى كأداة للتغيير الاجتماعي. عملت سابقًا مُدرسةً ومُعلمةً ومنسقةً للتثقيف الاجتماعي، حيث قادت مشاريع تعليمية واجتماعية، من بينها برنامج التميز في الموسيقى ومجموعة حوار بين المتدينين والعلمانيين. موسيقية ومبدعة ومُعلمة، تربط بين البحث والإبداع والعمل المجتمعي. أم لأربعة أبناء.

Short Bio: Director of the Ashkelon Beach Partnership and the Yoav Regional Council at the Jewish Agency, leads connections between communities in Israel and the Diaspora and develops long-term educational and community initiatives. Holds a doctorate in history from Bar-Ilan University. Research topic: Black music as a tool in forming identity among African-American women – research that deals with the connection between culture, gender, identity and music as a tool for social change. In the past, she was a teacher, educator and social education coordinator, who led educational and social projects, including a track of excellence in music and a dialogue group between religious and secular people.
